Hi!

Welcome to my blog. I am Silje and I document my thoughts, ramblings and adventures in knitting, fibre arts, and all things crafty. Hope you have a nice stay!

Episode 8: More hats and floppy yarn

Episode 8: More hats and floppy yarn

Another week flew by and another episode is live for your viewing pleasure. I’m on a roll with my fair isle hats and can show off two completed beanies in glorious colourwork. Walt the green monster makes an appearance, the granny square pullover is back and I express some frustration about choosing the next big knit.

Mentioned in this episode

What I’m wearing

The “Bouquet Sweater” by Junko Okamoto (@junkookamoto_design) has been popping up in my feeds again and I thought I would show off my version. Published back in January 2019, I knit mine up that same spring and you can read my blog post about it here to get all the details and links to pattern and project pages.

Bound off (Finished objects)

This week I finished the “Levenwik Cardigan”, "Kellister Hat'' and “Burrastow Beanie”  all by Gudrun Johnston.

The second Kellister Hat I knit up in a light version using Hillesvåg Vilje “Beige”, Rauma Finull PT2 “Sauesvart” and “Okergul” and Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift “Moss”.

After having completed the Kellister I cast on for the Burrastow Beanie in a cheerful purple and green. With a green pompom. Used Jamieson’s of Shetland Spindrift in the colourways “Bramble”, “Moorland”, “Lichen” and “Yellow Ochre”.

I’m counting the Levenwik cardigan as a completed garment for this week as I finally attached buttons after having it on the shelf for 2 years! Yarn used for the cardigan was Pickles Merino Tweed “Mørkt” held double with Holst Supersoft “Black”.

On the needles (work in progress)

Walt the green monster by Özlum Yildiz Teke from the book “Amigurumi Monsters” is in danger og not getting his head completed as I’m entering a game of yarn chicken. The last ball of Lime green Scheepjes Catona 100% Cotton.

Classic Granny Pullover. After my own head. Experimenting with crochet. Mostly rusitc fingering weight 2 ply wool. I’ll try to keep the Ravelry project updated as I go along.
