Hi!

Welcome to my blog. I am Silje and I document my thoughts, ramblings and adventures in knitting, fibre arts, and all things crafty. Hope you have a nice stay!

Episode 7: Everyone loves purple

Episode 7: Everyone loves purple

This weeks episode is up on the YouTube! I think I have finally figured out some sound issues I had on the previous recording. The love for colourwork continues this week, I show off a newly blocked shawl and I have a monstrous creature on my hook.

Mentioned in this episode

What I’m wearing

You can see my “Ghost Horses” by Caitlin Hunger (@boylandknitworks) in all it’s splendor. More details about this knit can be found in this blog post. Generally I rave about the yarn I used for it which is absolutely wonderful Venull Finslig by Værbitt, a hand dyer in Oslo that works exclusively with Norwegian non-superwash wools. My sweater is knitted in natural un-dyed yarn as the main colour and a one of a kind dappled green for contrast.

Bound off (Finished objects)

My excitement for “Kellister'' by Gudrun Johnston has not waned. This fair isle hat pattern just released on her Ravelry store last week and I really recommend getting it for a fair isle fix. I’m showing off my finished hat in charcoal gray base colour and gold, orange and beige pattern colours. So pleased with the hat that I have already cast on for another light version.

“Camomille Shawl” by Helga Isager. A light and airy garter stitch triangular shawl with a simple lace edge. There was supposed to be tassels but I’ve run out of yarn… Knitted up with Isager Spinni in “Chartruse” and Qing Fibre Yak Single in “Punjabi”. 😍

On the hook (work in progress)

Walt the green monster by Özlum Yldiz Teke from the book “Amigurumi Monsters”. A deal was struck with my son, he will get Walt before I start work on the biggest monster in the book!

Knitting plans

Being on a hat kick and fan-girling on Gudrun Johnston I am tempted to make the “Burrastow” beanie next. 🤔  Possibly in an inspiring and cheerful purple/ green combo.
