Hi!

Welcome to my blog. I am Silje and I document my thoughts, ramblings and adventures in knitting, fibre arts, and all things crafty. Hope you have a nice stay!

Episode 26: Finally finished my Lapwing!

Episode 26: Finally finished my Lapwing!

Happy days! My Lapwing pullover has been finished! And by finished I mean bound off, ends woven in and even blocked. Whoa! So tune in and you finally get to see it in it’s finished splendor. I’m also sharing some amigurumi progress, being secretive about a test knit I’m doing and even more about colour swatches. But I have decided on a colourway for my fair-isle vest!

Bound off (and wearing!)

Lapwing pullover by Marie Wallin.

This is a free all over colourwork/ fair-isle pattern. You can get it either on Lovecrafts (https://www.lovecrafts.com/en-gb/p/lapwing-knitting-pattern-by-marie-wallin) or Ravelry (https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/lapwing-6).

Yarns and colourways used: Ninapetrina (https://www.ninapetrina.no/) Tynn Blue-faced Leicester in "Oliven" for main colour and Telespinn Symre (https://www.telespinn.no/garn/symre.html) in "Brent jord" to contrast.

On my hook

Dirk the Dragon by Lydia Tresselt (@lalylala)

Hooking this one up in my go to amigurumi yarn, Scheepjes Cantona  on a size 2,5 mm hook.

Get the pattern for Dirk on Laly Lala's stores listed below.

Fair-isle Vest knit along

#FairisleVestKAL - will run until the end of September 2021. Will post something to the hashtag on instagram sometime soon.

I’ll be knitting the Nighthawk Slipover by Wilma Malcomson, published in Shetland Wool Adventures Journal vol. 2 (https://www.shetlandwooladventures.com/journal/) and am showing off my colour swatches in this podcast episode.

I have made a collection on Ravelry with some of my favourite patterns that are available on the platform. I will keep adding to this list as I find new inspiring designs.
