Episode 12: Lockdown Cardigan completed and Lapwing out of hibernation
In this episode I chat about my experience crocheting the Lockdown cardigan, talk about future possible knits, knitting out of stash and picking up a hibernating project, the Lapwing pullover, while waiting for inspiration to strike for the next thing.
Patterns, yarns and people mentioned in this episode
Bound off (Finished object)
I finished my “Lockdown Cardigan” by Theodora Goes Wild! It is a soft, heavily textured cardigan with lots of drape. Not a hundred percent happy with how my version turned out, and I have some fixes/ improvement in mind for it to become what I want in my wardrobe. Get the pattern on either Etsy or Ravelry. I used a variety of different yarns from stash mainly in black, blue and greens to make up worsted weight.
On the needles (work in progress)
I’ve pulled a project out of hibernation in the lack of inspiration, or rather decision making capabilities, namely the “Lapwing” pullover by Marie Wallin. She has released it as a free (!) pattern and you can get it either on Lovecrafts or Ravelry. It’s an all over colourwork pullover which I started back in 2019. The body has been completed and I’ve only now picked up to start the sleeves. Yarn used for this is Ninapetrina Tynn Blue-faced Leicester in "Oliven" for main colour and Telespinn Symre in "Brent jord" to contrast. Both are 2 ply light fingering weight yarns.
Also mentioned were the Foula Snood which is an active WIP, but it looks pretty much the same as last time. So check out episode 11 notes for more info on that one.
