Hi!

Welcome to my blog. I am Silje and I document my thoughts, ramblings and adventures in knitting, fibre arts, and all things crafty. Hope you have a nice stay!

Balloon Cardigan

Balloon Cardigan

Product knit for the win! So very pleased with the result, but oh my how I was bored knitting it. I was sorely tempted to put it aside and do something more fun (for me) on several occasions. But I knew it would just crawl into a corner forgotten if I did. Instead I now have in my wardrobe one of the garments I’m most pleased with and will probably wear a ton.

Pattern: Balloon Cardigan
Designer: PetiteKnit
Yarn: Merino Extra & Drops Kid-Silk
Colourway: 595, 492 & 19 Dark Green

Not a whole lot to say about this one except that I love the colour, love the fabric, love the cut and fit of the finished garment. And apart from merino/mohair is very soft and squishy to knit with, and that the colour coming together was a pleasing sight, honestly I just powered through this knit to get to the end line.

Knit with three strands held together. All yarns sourced from my stash, the kid-silk picked up at a sale some time back because of course I knew there would be a need for green mohair at some point in time and the merino acquired in Riga (Latvia) when we visited last summer.

Nothing at all to pick at for the pattern, all very clear and easy to follow as always. Similar to the No-frills this one is a whole lot of stockinette with some lovely details to elevate the look with large buttons and wide bell sleeves.
